Lou Lorenzen, artist, illustrator, and educator, has taught for 40 years and is a retired Professor of Fine Arts at Fitchburg State University, where
he was a full member of the graduate faculty and taught for 33 years.  He served as Director of Special Subjects Teams for the lab school under
the I.G.E., visual arts professor for the junior high program and elementary visual arts professor.  Presently, Professor Lorenzen teaches Art
Studio and Art History for the Graduate and Continuing Education Departments.  Additionally, he continues to guest lecture for numerous art clubs
and societies and conducts workshops in watercolor in conjunction with Stoneybrook's Summer Study Program and Fitchburg State College's
graduate and continuing education programs in Rome.  He is also the Director of the College's program of study in Rome.  Fitchburg State
University published 12 videos of eight lessons for programmed learning in watercolor by Professor Lorenzen.  For many years, Lou Lorenzen
kept a summer studio in the popular coastal community of Boothbay Harbor Maine where he concentrated on Maine coastal and harbor scenes.  
His works are in the permanent collections of Fitchburg State University, Salem State College, Bowling Green State University, Bridgewater
State College, Leominster Credit Union, Jaffrey (NH) Civic Center, and the Greater Cleveland Research Council.  Many private collectors have
purchased his work and he has illustrated two nationally-distributed books.
